IDENTIFY YOUR PEST
Follow the tips the below to firmly diagnose a pest problem and identify your pest.
Sprinkle a thin layer of flour or baby powder in the area you believe to be populated by rodents, and look for their tracks across the covered area.
Wrap the legs of your bed in double sided tape, and the areas around and under the bed. Whilst some bed bugs can walk across tacky surfaces, the tape will certainly help to slow them down. Monitor these areas regularly.
Produce a mixture 50% baking soda, 50% sugar/honey. While the baking soda can have limited effectiveness in killing roaches, it should help confirm your suspicions, with the sweet ratio of the mixture attracting them.
Rotate your clothes from the back of the wardrobe/draws to the front to disturb any moths, and assess for visual signs. Pull out furniture, hoovering behind and beneath it where moths are most likely to be.
IDENTIFY YOUR PEST WITH
DIY INSECT DETECTORS
Easily made at home from 2×4 inch cardboard and double-sided tape, Insect detectors are a great way to confirm a pest problem and identify your pest. Simply cover the entire sheet of cardboard in tape, so the entire piece is sticky, and place in areas you suspect pest activity to present. This is a great method of confirming cockroach, ant & flea problems, though adding a lamp over the Insect detector is key if you suspect a flea problem. These simple homemade detectors are also effective in illuminating infestations of stored product insects.
STORED PRODUCT INSECTS
Stockpiling food, or storing goods with a long life can create the perfect conditions for stored product insects to flourish. Cereals, flour, rice/pasta, crackers/biscuits, nuts/grains, dried fruits, tea, spices and even chocolate, are all food products that could become infested by these pests. This can occur at the point of production, in stores or in your home.
Flour beetles, grain weevils, larder beetles, flour & cheese mites, mealworm beetles, and many others, can penetrate the packaging of food, but predominately infest opened products in which they breed and multiply. Placing homemade Insect detectors in cupboards storing food is an effective way to confirm an infestation of stored product insects and identify your pest.

“Great service at an unbeatable price. Removed a large wasp nest from the loft and returned a few days later to kill off some stragglers at no additional cost. Hard to fault and highly recommended.”
“First class service. Had a nasty case of bed bugs (notoriously hard to get rid of!) and 4 treatments later they were gone without a trace. Top job and friendly, professional service. I hope I never have to recommend a pest control service to anyone but I would recommend Key West at the drop of a hat.”
